Sunny beaches, merengue music, and exotic delicacies. Oh, how I wish I was lounging in a tropical country right now! As of lately, I have been craving an escape to a Latin country. I have been to Nicaragua, Belize, Cancun, Isla Cozumel, El Salvador, and Guatemala (the latter two only briefly); and would love to continue exploring my Central American land. I was listening to some merengue-salsa-dancing music the other day, and it totally hit me... I have been way out of touch with my Latin culture! Not that I ever was 100% embedded into a Hispanic way of life. I have been pretty Americanized and assimilated into the good ol' US of A culture; but the Nicaraguan and Salvadorian are still a huge part of me. I miss the simple way of life found in these countries - along with the food, music, family, traditions, church, weather, and shopping. I hope to return soon and soak in the beauty of these países.
